ALL ARE EQUAL BEFORE THE LAW?

Not many days past, I think the exact date was 22nd January, 2018, Lydia Forson posted a video of herself and friends having a verbal feud with a Security personnel (Probably a Police Officer or a BNI Operative). Take note I said Lydia Forson posted the video by herself on her timeline and she admitted being the same person who videoed the altercation. In other words, she circulated a video involving a Security Officer and herself on social media. I didn't read anywhere or heard on any media out-let that the Ghana Police Service issued an arrest warrant for Lydia Forson to be charged with videoing and circulating of a fracas between herself and an Officer.
Not only that, but few weeks ago, another video surfaced showing a man who was furiously admonishing some Police Officers against the extortion of "one one" cedi and "five five" cedis from offenders of road traffic Laws. Whoever shot that video was not looked out for by the Police and neither was the man who appeared in the video searched for and charged with the circulation of the video. Let us take note that all the Personalities involved in the aforementioned events are "averagely " rich; in the sense that they both had a metal framed with 4 tires and a steering wheel, coupled with clutch, brakes and accelerator. The majoritarian perception about RICHES in Ghana is that anybody who owns a Car is RICH OR.............?
In Ghana, it is easier to be arrested by the Police when you are a "WALKING MAN" than when you are a " DRIVING MAN". But make sure you have a luxurious car; Corolla "S" and the likes may land you into trouble
Now, yesterday which was the 3rd of March, 2018, another verbal feud ensured between the self-anointed Dancehall king (I agree tho'), Shatta Wale, and a Senior Police officer whose identity I do not know. In the video, it appeared the Dancehall king lost his temper after having tried to settle things with the Police officer in the Ghanaian way. Having failed, he fumed and bearing the fruit of his name "Shatta", he almost "shattered" the Police Officer. A video of the incident surfaced in which Shatta Wale was seen ranting about the fact that he's famous and that the Police officer should handle the matter in a lax manner. Wait, did I see Shatta Wale tap the shoulder (where the officers ranks are embossed) of the Police Officer in his bid to settle matters and did I also see him in slippers? Well, I asked about the Slippers because I'm aware it's unlawful to sit behind the wheels wearing slippers. Anyway, every "big man" in Ghana can do same or does same so it's never the case that all of us are equal before the Law. The saying that we are all equal before the Law is an inordinate falsehood in this part of our world and I'm not scared to say that the Law is in the pockets of some people who think themselves to be in their own social class.
As I was saying, the video of Shatta Wale and the Police officer is out there in the Public and I have heard that a "Poor" and "not-too-powerful" woman has been arrested by the Police and she has been charged with videoing and circulating of a confrontation between Shatta Wale and a Police officer. Has Shatta Wale been invited for the offenses he was charged with in addition to his rudeness, if not, then why invite a woman who only appeared in the video without any indication she shot the video?
What came to mind after I heard a woman has been arrested are the events I have chronicled above. In all of those cases, nothing of the sort was heard of. I mean we never heard that Lydia Forson or the man I mentioned were invited by the Police for questioning on how those videos were publicized. Was it because Lydia and the man are considered not to be "Ordinary " Citizens or there wasn't any Law barring videoing and circulation as at the time theirs occurred? Let us take note that all the narratives I have sighted happened in 2018 and so it is not the case that the Law just surfaced in the case of this "ordinary " woman who was arrested yesterday. Though she was bailed out, I think it's a total waste of everybody's time.
I didn't intend to write this long on this simple matter but the burning within me wouldn't permit me to quit and at the same time, my keypad isn't showing any signs of tiredness and so I will add up few lines in the form of "QUESTIONING" on similar matters.
Are we all not witnesses to the fact that people (Private Citizens) in our society who are able to afford Toyota V8 Land Cruisers are automatic ESCAPEES of traffic regulations and road traffic offenses? All they need to do is to get their windscreens tinted and have their cars sprayed black. They can then put on hazard lights and violate traffic offenses without an Officer daring to question them. Are all equal before the Law? Tell me!
I know and I believe you have heard of "ordinary" Citizens who were handed jail sentences of over 10 years having been charged and convicted for stealing Plantain, cassava or goats. I'm glad you know this as well. And, I believe you also know of how some "big men" who embezzled millions of Public funds were convicted and handed jail sentences between 2-5 years. The immediate evidence that comes to mind is Mr. Abuga Pele who was convicted for an embezzlement of a whopping sum of GH[] 3.3 which is over a million dollars. Meanwhile, what ordinary criminals are convicted for are not anywhere near the worth of the huge sums of monies these "big men" steal from the Public purse. They are quick to tell us that the jail terms are determined by the Judges and that what the Law stipulates is what is applied. But think thoroughly over all of these. Are all equal before the Law?
I would go no further but conclusively I think the Ghana Police Service must stop the selectiveness and misapplications of the Law. The Police should hasten to invite Shatta Wale for questioning if they are not willing to let go of the woman who is only suspected to have shot the video. The offender is walking free whiles the witness is bearing the cross. JUSTICE must be honored.

God bless my Homeland Ghana 🇬🇭 and All right-thinking Ghanaians.

NB: Since when did it became an offense to video a Public event? Why then fix CCTV at Public Places? Was the video shot in the privacy of Shata Wale's bedroom or on the compound of the Police Officer?
Crass Nonsense!
