We were in this country when a well-accepted and renowned man of God lost his 2 daughters, Audrey and Amanda, in a fatal accident in Tamale. The 2 daughters were aged 15 and 20 respectively and it was reported that they were on a mission for Christ when their car crashed. Nobody ever said that these children died in the accident because they were sinners or because they had been sacrificed for an initiation and occultic rituals they had partook in.
If men and women were to die because of the heap of sins they have committed, then it was probably unlikely that these daughters of Rev. Eastwood Anaba should have died in the cruel manner they did. But in fact they died. Accident is accident and can happen to anybody irrespective of his or her spiritual status (sinful or less sinful). Did we not hear how Dr. Myles Monroe, a spiritual giant, and his wife together with other crew members died in a horrific plane crash? In fact Christ himself and his disciples almost had an accident on the sea whiles he slept in the boat they were traveling with [Mathew viii: 23-27]. Also, Christ taught us that people who meet untimely death are not necessarily sinners than those who live. [Luke xiii: 1-5]. He who obeys the whole Law but stumble in only one is as guilty as he who do not obey any of the Law of God. We all live by grace and mercy but not of ourselves and the goodness we have done.
Now, a young lady who was striving to make a living has unfortunately been ruined in a car crash and all that we can hear from some insensitive men and women is that she belonged to a secret society which is what warranted her death.
Boldly, some assert that she has been sacrificed and what itches my skin is the fact that some misguided men in Cassock are forcefully dragging her Dad and Manager into the mystery behind her death. Why are we, especially "Christians" doing this to ourselves? Have we become that insensitive; forgetting that the whole of Christianity is centered around ACCEPTANCE? Did Christ not accept Mary Magdalene and Zacchaeus for who they are before preaching the good news of the Gospel to them in his bid to change them? Yes, most of us had problem with the "loose" manner she dressed but it doesn't grant us the License to pronounce judgement on her even after she is dead and gone. "We" chastised her for exposing vital parts of her body in her packaging but it's sheer wickedness to pretend as if she was the worst to ever walk the surface of the Earth. The hypocrisy is too horrendous. She must be given the space to rest wherever she is and have her peace.
I'm yet to hear or see any Muslim cleric or Muslims run commentaries on such matters in a condemning tone.
